Dear KMS Parents:
Welcome to the new lunch program at the Katherine Michiels School! We hope that you like our new offerings and we look forward to continuing to provide fresh, nutritious lunches for your child. If you are joining us for the first time, please make sure you complete and submit the Apron Strings Release and Registration Forms (please see links under the navigation on this page, or you can find them where the sign up and payment box is located at the school).
Our lunches can be purchased for the summer session (June 8, through and including August 21, 2009), fall session (September 1 through and including December 23, 2009), and spring session (January 4, 2010 through and including June 7, 2010) and our menus will be posted online 30 days in advance. The charge will be as follows:
Winter Session: (5 months) January 4 - June 11, 2010
- Peach Group: $520
- All Other Groups: $624
Summer Session: (3 months) June 14 - August 31, 2010
- Peach Group: $235
- All Other Groups: $238
Most frequently asked questions:
What does the lunch program consist of?
Instead of providing communal lunches to all children attending KMS, Apron Strings will now offer a freshly prepared meal to every child that signs up for the lunch program. The lunch will consist of fresh and nutritional food that is similar to what your child is getting now and includes an entrée and vegetable. We will not offer a beverage; the current program of bringing a water bottle will stay in place. KMS will provide a daily snack.
How do we sign up?
There will be sign up forms on the outside of the kitchen door in the Rainbow Room (a/k/a "Gaydean's Group" and a/k/a "The Pink Group") along with a safe box where you can deposit your form and payment. All payments must be in the form of a check payable to Apron Strings. We do not accept cash or credit card payments.
How far in advance do I need to submit my paperwork and payment?
The sign up form and payment must be submitted by May 15, 2009 for the summer session and by August 14, 2009 for the fall session.
What if my child has allergies or special dietary needs?
It is your responsibility to let us know if your child is allergic to any type of food or has special dietary needs and we will do everything that we can to avoid potential risks. We have a release form that must be completed prior to enrolling in the lunch program.
What if my child is absent? Do I still have to pay?
Similar to the current policy in effect with respect to tuition, we cannot credit you if your child has missed school for any reason.
What about scheduled school holidays?
The price per session takes into account the number of schools days in each session.
